Sugar and Health
Nutritional experts recommend that adults and children over two make up 55% of their diet from carbohydrate. The remainder is made up from proteins and fats.
Sugar is a great way of increasing carbohydrate intake. It’s a great source of energy and it’s fat-free.
Sweetness is the only taste the body is programmed to respond positively to. It improves the flavour of foods and widens the range of foods people will eat such as high fibre breakfast cereals and sour or bitter fruits.
